Exam track vs non exam track jobs

vendredi 9 janvier 2015

I have a job interview for a position as a 'retirement service analyst.' Some of the jobs description includes:complete actuarial valuation, prepare valuation for consulting offices, complete analysis and reconciliation of data plans, meet chargeable hours, do budget soreadsheets.

The only thing is that this position specifically states that they are looking for candidates interested in non actuarial tracks and does not provide exam support.

In this case, what exactly would be the difference between a position that is 'exam track,' rather than non exam track? Even the non exam track has a job duty of 'complete actuarial valuation.' Will the former be a job that is in a completely different department with completely different job duties? I don't mind about not providing for exam support. I can study on my own and pay for out of pocket, but I'm just wondering if it will be a turn off if I mention that I am sitting for actuarial exams
