I've written in other threads, but I'm attempting to reenter the actuarial market and was wondering what one should do to improve technical skills. I believe this is a key area holding me back because I do not have a very good technical background. I'm considering taking courses at a local community college for SQL, VBA, and excel skills. Does this sound like a good idea? I'm currently working as a tutor and finishing up a masters in an unrelated subject. Thank you.
