Strategies for avoiding silly mistakes?

dimanche 15 mars 2015

In my studying for Exam P I have come to realize that it will probably be silly mistakes that cost me the most of my exam. I understand the concepts, but I'll say for example, be solving a mixed distribution problem with double integration and do everything correctly, only to write 1/y instead of y/1 halfway through the problem and get the wrong answer. 95% of my incorrect answers are silly mistakes like this.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Is the solution simply more practice? It seems that no matter how much I practice my "silly mistake" rate isn't going down at all.
